In addition to rocking the surf-board, we skateboarded as well along the Seekonk River where you can sometimes see Crew teams rowing boats up and down the river.

Back to School
Providence, the capital of Rhode Island and where we live, has many notable schools. Brown occupies much of "college hill" and consists of a beautiful campus. We were particularly interested in seeing if we could find Emma Watson, the girl who played Hermione in Harry Potter (maybe that's why Flat Emmet is wearing a Harry Potter shirt).
Providence also has RISD (pronounced RIZDEE) which stands for the Rhode Island School of Design. This is an art school and as a two-dimensional paper person Flat Emmet fit right in!

History History History!
Providence is the capital of Rhode Island, and this is where we live. We had a great time taking Flat Emmet out and about. Below is a picture of the Old State House. It may not look like a lot, but there would be no United States of America without it! Rhode Island was the first of the colonies to declare secede from the British Empire. (We were also the last State to sign the Declaration of Independence...go figure!)
And in the distance you can see the new and improved State House.
This area has the largest collection of renovated functional historic building in the country. Many of the houses in this neighborhood have plaques such as the one below.
We used to live in the blue house pictured here.
This same street was the address of Edgar Allen Poe, a scare author, and they say the headless horseman runs down this street.
